Mechanical Engineering Faculty (MEF) is independent legal department of University of Niš. It was established at 1960.

The Faculty employs 50 research & teaching assistants, 10 research assistants, 8 assistant professors, 10 associate professors, 30 full professors and 42 of administrative staff and is recognized as one of the leading national research organizations, according to latest national science framework funding assessment results. A separate organizational structure is formed for the purpose of the research and development, which is performed in 6 accredited laboratories and 4 research departments, coordinated by the faculty institute office.

MEF has participated / is participating in a number of Framework Programme projects, deploying state-of-the-art collaboration solutions. MEF is responsible for the development of the Serbian EURAXESS Services Network  (through the project SER-MORE, FP7, MOB7-GNR-2008-225076). MEF participated in EURAXESS TOP I as Associated Partner. MEF is partner in the project ‘Intersectoral Mobility of Researchers in South-Eastern Europe’ (I-SEEMob), FP7, SP4-Capacities-234629. Finally, MEF was involved in the project ‘Development of researchers’ mobility policy guidelines for the region of Western Balkans (WEBMOB), FP6, INCO-CT-2005-515923.

Key personnel:

Dr. Miroslav Trajanović is full professor at University of Niš, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He teaches a number of courses, mostly related to the application of Information Technology. Since 2007, he is head of the Chair for manufacturing systems, information technology and industrial management. He managed 14 national projects and coordinated national teams in 5 European (FP6, FP7) projects. He is author or co-author of more than 140 scientific and professional published papers. He is the national representative in the SGHRM and bridgehead of the national EURAXESS network.

Milan Zdravkovic is a researcher and an expert for collaborative information systems and interoperability. He is an active member of EURAXESS WG Portal administrators and WG Network Management and one of the major contributors to the development of different solutions to improve the usability and visibility of the national EURAXESS portals.

Nikola Korunovic, PhD, is a research assistant at Mechanical Engineering Faculty University of Nis. He has 14 years of experience in mechanical design/analysis, using and customizing CAD/FEA software and working with database systems. He has participated in seven FP6 and FP7 Specific Support Actions, mostly related to researcher's mobility, collaboration and environmental issues, as well as a  large number of national research projects and bilateral projects with industry. He is an author of more than 45 papers, published in international and national magazines and conferences.
